Decorating for fall is my favorite season to decorate for! It creates a sense of coziness and a welcoming, inviting vibe throughout the home. Afterall, fall is the beginning of the inviting season for guests and family. Plaids, textures, faux branches, warm wood tones, and yummy scents all invoke the feeling of fall. The colors are warm and the textures are endless for brining in that cozy feeling, so let’s dive in to ways to bring about these feelings in your home! (Also notice: empty liquor bottles make the perfect vases!! If you do not drink you can use any larger empty bottle)

Found in nature
The absolute most inexpensive–FREE!– fall decor is finding branches, acorns and pine cones around your yard or neighborhood. Most everyone can take a quick walk around their neighborhood, local park, or yard and find any or all of these things. It is also a fun activity to do with your kids. My kids love to be on the lookout and sometimes they even find things that I wouldn’t otherwise have seen. You can add these to bowls or vases to create a centerpiece or just a piece like this one for your coffee table or and entryway table.
Pro tip: to add a little extra–drop on a few drops of cinnamon or pine essential oil to really bring in that fall feel and smell.
Dollar store or Dollar Spot/Bullseye’s Playground at Target
Another great way to find really inexpensive items is go to your dollar store or the Dollar Spot/Bullseye’s Playground at your local target. Right now mine has these adorable vases filled with faux florals and sprays for $5, like this one. All the florals are already in the vase when you buy it. They are attached. If you can’t find them at your Target and go to the dollar store, you’ll probably have to put them together but it should cost about the same!
Pumpkins
While this one may seem like a no-brainer, pumpkins are a great way to decorate for fall. I don’t just mean the real ones, but when you combine different materials it creates a fun texture and a cozy vibe. For instance, Target has these woven/rattan ones that I may go snag for $10! Try to incorporate fabric, rattan, porcelain, plastic, and real ones and mix it up! Here are some I have collected over the years that I place on our stairs. Super fun. Also notice the fun colors. Some are gold and silver, which adds a fun pop of modern yet not fussy.

Fall throw blankets
A good plaid throw with fall colors is not only functional, but it can also be used as decor! You can wrap it around your sofa cushion for an elevated look or drape it over the back. You can also drape it over a chair and create a “runner” from it by folding it in thirds and draping it across the back of the chair and then down onto the seat. When you’re ready to curl up in your blanket, just pull it off and use it.
