How to Get Ready for Spring!

Feb 28, 2023

As you know, spring is just a mere few weeks away and before we know it…it will be summer! But for now let’s look at some spring faves and ideas and all the things we love about it.

Since it is February, did you know Februare is Latin for cleanse or purification? That is why we hear all the things about decluttering and cleaning your home during this month. And while I didn’t declutter all that I needed or wanted to, I did freshen some things up to prepare for spring.

Recap

While February has Groundhog’s Day, and this year since Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, I am prepping for spring! How about you? Even if you are in a super cold climate or grudging through winter up north, there are some great DIYs you can do to ready for the upcoming season. You can read my top DIYs to try this spring here. They include painting a wallpaper wall, furniture, creating a frame for your TV and several more!

Outdoor Refresh

A patio, balcony, or outdoor space refresh is definitely in order for the upcoming spring. You can read about refreshing your outdoor space here. It doesn’t even need to cost much, if any, to update your space. Sometimes a good ole scrubbing and cleaning and sweeping really can make all the difference.

Cleaning

Cleaning rugs and runners in your home is another good idea for cleaning for spring. Our kitchen runner was a disaster and I used OxiClean to get it almost new looking! I stuffed that thing in the bathtub and filled it with hot water and 4 big scoops of Oxi and scrubbed the spots off. Then I let it soak for a good 4 hours. It is a very thick rug so it wouldn’t fit in our wash or spin if it did. If yours fits in the wash, throw that bad boy in and do Oxi in there!

Another good idea is cleaning out closets, drawers and decluttering. I know I said I didn’t do enough of this in February, but you can always get started now! I’ve started using a new folding method for my undies and intimates that I found in a video and I love how much space it frees up in my drawers. I know most people will think it looks like it takes too long, but it literally takes all of 3-5 seconds to do! Here is a short video with the tutorial.

What ideas and tips do you have for spring? I’d love to hear in the comments!👇🏼
