Favorites from 2022

Dec 29, 2022

I think we can all agree that 2022 went by fast, just like it seems to be for every year. But this year seemed unbelievably fast in my opinion. Anyone else? That being said, I have rounded up a few things that I purchased this year that I absolutely love.

I only share products with you that I truly use and love, so you can do the same. I won’t ever share anything for the sake of sharing it unless I really stand by it.

Waterdrop Filtered Water Pitcher

If you know me, I am a self-proclaimed water snob. Yep, you read that right. I despise tap water. Not only does it taste awful, it is estimated that there is up to 324 contaminants in our drinking water. EEeek. So this leads me to share with you my water journey. No, not really. I know you aren’t here for that.

Back to the best water pitcher ever. I was using Clearly Filtered but they started charging me $53/ filter. Um. NO. So I went on my quest for a filter that eliminates (as much as possible) fluoride and chlorine. Which most do not. I stumbled upon the Waterdrop. And guess what? The filters are $11 with Amazon’s Subscribe & Save! WOW! The water tastes really clean, the design is super cute with it’s wooden handle, and it has a light to indicate when you need a new filter. I just love it! So if you’re a water snob like me or have decided you are one now—go get you one!

Narrow Motion Sensor Trash Can

sleek trash can

Well, I guess you probably never thought I’d say of all the things in 2022 one of my favorites was a trash can. Neither did I. But you all. Have you priced out trash cans lately? For the love of Twizzlers! I found some that are in the hundreds. For a piece of metal that is holding GARBAGE. Literally. I can’t even wrap my head around it really. But I digress.

So during my guest bathroom makeover I wanted to get rid of the trash can we had because it was too big and it didn’t have a lid. I have a dog and I honestly don’t like open trash cans because eww, who wants to see all that stuff anyway? So I was on a search for one with brushed gold because, well, you know me and my gold obsession. Or maybe you don’t know but you do now. And this one popped up and I thought, huh that looks sleek. I’ll be completely honest, I didn’t really read the description. I just liked it and it was not priced at take-out-your-life-savings. So I clicked buy now and that was that.

The fun part was when it arrived and I realized it was sensored. You wave your hand over it and it opens then it closes on its own. It also has 4-1/2 stars on Amazon so there’s that. Don’t you think she’s so cute?

Mile High Club Mascara

Now if you’re not a mascara wearer, scroll on down to the next. But if you are…OMG you have to try this mascara! I literally feel like over the last 32 years of my mascara wearing life I have tried. them. all. And I always seem to get flaking or smudging by the end of the day. I also don’t have naturally long eyelashes so having a little lift is a plus too.

I tried this mascara on a whim once and I now will never buy anything else. It’s my absolute fave. It also got these awards:

2019 Refinery29 Beauty Innovator Award Winner for Best Mascara

2019 Allure Best of Beauty Award Winner

2019 PureWow x Blink Beauty Indie Beauty Award Winner for Best Mascara

I’d say it’s a winner!

Oh What Fun Sherpa Sweater

This was a splurge for me (I did use a 20% off they had during Black Friday), but I really love this sweater. It is super soft and warm, not to mention it is so fun, colorful and bright! It is from Judith March, where they all make each piece custom so it takes 2-3 weeks to arrive. I also got this fun beanie too. They have so many cute things and if you have a daughter, many of their adult pieces have matching little girls pieces.

Homma Leggings

I love me some leggings, don’t we all? I got these because they are very flattering to any body shape or size. I like how they squeeze in the parts I really want smoothed out. 😉 I’m sure we can all relate on some level. I also like how high they come and if they are too high waisted for some, you can fold them over. They are a bit long, but I am 5’4″ and they aren’t too long, but just a tad longer than some.

Talalay Latex Pillow

I know everyone likes different firmness, plushness or whatever your preference is on pillows. But we went to Big Cedar Lodge this summer and the pillows they had were heavenly. They weren’t down and they weren’t stuffed. I couldn’t make out what they were made of, so of course I consulted with Google University. Lo and behold, on tripadvisor someone raved about them too and so they commented what they were. The pillow is latex and offers a responsive foam that can help relieve sleeping pains. Zoned comfort cradles the head with larger holes on the inside while supporting the neck with smaller holes on the outside, also increasing air circulation and breathability.

It’s amazing is all I can say! I love how it cradles your head as you move and doesn’t get flat. I highly suggest it!

Sumo Bumper Balls

Last but certainly not least are these bumper balls. We got these for the boys for Christmas and it was one of the faves of the day! All of us took turns doing it and I haven’t laughed that hard in a while! I will say if you have an air mattress electric pump to air them up it makes it 1000 times easier. I think the price increased since I got them because I only paid around $50 for them, but I promise they are worth it! This is a picture of my boys playing with them for the first time. It was great fun for hours!

Stay tuned for regular faves for you and your family!
